The only black and female Councillor in Renfrewshire representing Erskine and Inchinnan has been nominated by her party to stand as the Member of Scottish Parliament (MSP) in next year’s parliamentary election.
Michelle Campbell grandparents came to Scotland after fleeing from the brutalities of dictator Idi Amin in Uganda.
She grew up in Fife and works as a Mental Health Nurse in Paisley.
In a series of tweets, Michelle announced her intention to ask her political party the Scottish National Party (SNP) membership of Renfrewshire North and West constituency to select her as their MSP candidate for next year.
